Swedish building construction sector is teaming with bribery and corruption

Sweden is seen as a very quirky cleans and organised country with low corruption and high rule of law in the northern hemisphere, right? Wrong. One sector shows just how corrupt Sweden might be - the building and construction sector.

On average, every fifth notification of corruption in the sector leads to a conviction, according to a report by Swedish National Crime Prevention Council (Brå) released on Tuesday. 

The building and construction industry stands out again as the sector where corruption is rampant.
